Bringing New Life to Old Pieces

a silver ring features and oval ruby with diamonds scattered on either side

I turned a small handful of a client’s outdated-but-meaningful pieces into this modern chunky ring she can wear everyday.

I removed the stones of the original pieces and ended up with a small assortment of gemstones.

The client only wanted to use an oval ruby and the diamonds. She showed me an inspiration photo of a ring she liked, and I took it from there. I carved a wax model that included seats for the ruby and all of the diamonds, and sent it off to the casting service. Once I received the casting, I cleaned it up and set all of the stones.

The client now has a piece that is made from her most sentimental jewelry, but that reflects her personal style right now.
